Using in situ measurements from the Parker Solar Probe and Wind spacecraft, we investigate the small-scale magnetic flux ropes (SFRs) and their properties inside stream interaction regions (SIRs). Within SIRs from \raisebox-0.5ex\textasciitilde0.15 to 1 au, SFRs are found to exist in a wide range of solar wind speeds with more frequent occurrences after the stream interface, and the Alfv\ enicity of these structures decreases significantly with increasing heliocentric distances. Furthermore, we examine the variation of five ... The Radial Evolution of the Solar Wind as Organized by Electron Distribution Parameters We utilize observations from the Parker Solar Probe (PSP) to study the radial evolution of the solar wind in the inner heliosphere. We analyze electron velocity distribution functions observed by the Solar Wind Electrons, Alphas, and Protons suite to estimate the coronal electron temperature and the local electric potential in the solar wind. From the latter value and the local flow speed, we compute the asymptotic solar wind speed. We group the PSP observations by asymptotic speed, and characterize the radial evolution of t ... The first computations of the compressible energy transfer rate from \raisebox-0.5ex\textasciitilde0.2 up to \raisebox-0.5ex\textasciitilde1.7 au is obtained using Parker Solar Probe (PSP), Time History of Events and Macroscale Interactions during Substorms (THEMIS), and Mars Atmosphere and Volatile EvolutioN (MAVEN) observations. Using a recently derived exact relation for isothermal magnetohydrodynamics turbulence, the compressible energy cascade rate, \ensuremath\varepsilon$_C$, is computed for hundred of events at differ ... es, Andr\; Sahraoui, F.; Hadid, L.~Z.; Huang, S.~Y.; Romanelli, N.; Galtier, S.; DiBraccio, G.; Halekas, J.; Published by: \apj Published on: sep YEAR: 2021   DOI: 10.3847/1538-4357/ac0af5 Solar wind; Fast solar wind; Slow solar wind; Interplanetary physics; 1534; 1872; 1873; 827; Physics - Space Physics; Astrophysics - Solar and Stellar Astrophysics; Physics - Plasma Physics; Parker Data Used |
