Monolithic CMOS detectors for use as x-ray imaging spectrometers The Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory (SAO) in collaboration with Stanford Research Institute (SRI) has been developing monolithic CMOS detectors for use as astronomical soft X-ray imaging spectrometers since 2008.
