Improving the Alfv\ en Wave Solar Atmosphere Model Based on Parker Solar Probe Data In van der Holst et al. (2019), we modeled the solar corona and inner heliosphere of the first encounter of NASA s Parker Solar Probe (PSP) using the Alfv\ en Wave Solar atmosphere Model (AWSoM) with Air Force Data Assimilative Photospheric flux Transport- Global Oscillation Network Group magnetograms, and made predictions of the state of the solar wind plasma for the first encounter. The Evolution and Role of Solar Wind Turbulence in the Inner Heliosphere The first two orbits of the Parker Solar Probe spacecraft have enabled the first in situ measurements of the solar wind down to a heliocentric distance of 0.17 au (or 36 R\ ⊙\ \ R⊙ ).
